Counselling and Insurance Coverage for Students

Counselling for Students

While there isn’t a particular type of counselling reserved specifically for students, the pattern in the types of issues brought to counselling by students point to something unique about the student experience that can be explored in therapy.

An average of 69% of Canadian post-secondary students reported* feeling “overwhelming anxiety”, while just over half of students reported feeling debilitating depression. The effects of imposter syndrome and loneliness are so prevalent among students it is abundantly clear to us that being a student is an experience that brings about unique challenges, many of which aren’t understood when going through the process of applying to schools or in orientation.

Having likely experienced many of the challenges that you may be living with right now, our counsellors are uniquely positioned to listen with understanding and empathy. School is already hard. You don’t need your mental health making it any harder. We’re here for you.

If you have any financial concerns, be sure to take a look at your student benefits to help you determine the options that are available to you.
