Online Counselling With Zenith
If nothing else, the COVID-19 pandemic has taught us the importance of adapting our practice as much as we can to prevent your clinical care from being disrupted. Remote counselling is an option that is available to you throughout the year. Weather-related disruptions, car problems, and other unforeseen circumstances could prevent you from attending a session in-person and adjusting your scheduled appointment would be an alternative to rescheduling or cancelling your appointment.
Phone Counselling
This option is relatively straight-forward and can be arranged without much pre-planning. We will call you according to the start time of your scheduled appointment. We will ask you a few questions at the beginning of each call before carrying on with the session:
Confirm your identity
Confirm that you are in a secure, private place to have an uninterrupted session
Determine whether you are a harm to yourself or others
Confirm the call is not being recorded
Provide community resources (if needed)
Confirm alternative means of contact
Once we complete these steps, we’re all good to go for the rest of the session! Our calls are facilitated through Kitchener-based OpenPhone.
Video Counselling
While this option requires a bit more pre-planning, it’s easy to get it arranged in advance of your scheduled appointment start time. We will do the heavy-lifting in setting up the video counselling session. You’ll need a stable internet connection and access to a laptop/desktop/cellphone that has a camera and microphone. Follow the steps below to get setup!
Reach out to us and setup an appointment/change an existing appointment to attend through video counselling. This process involves creating an account through Jane App (option to use Google and social accounts)
We will setup the online session through Jane App and send an email confirmation to you once the appointment is booked
We will be available to walk you through any technical issues, answer questions you have in joining the session or provide alternatives if you cannot access Jane App’s service.
We welcome any questions you may have about how we keep your online sessions private and confidential.
